This is Ms. Wilson’s fourth school year here at Coppell Classical Academy and third year teaching kindergarten for CCA. Before coming to the CCA family, she taught pre-kindergarten for nearly 15 years. She also worked in special education for a neighboring school district. Ms. Wilson is certified to teach early childhood through sixth grade and is ESL certified. She looks forward to creating a safe, fun, and engaging atmosphere for your child to learn and grow, welcome to Coppell Classical Academy!
Mrs. Britt is in her first year here at Coppell Classical. She has previously taught 4th and 5th grades, but is so excited about her new adventure in 3rd grade. Mrs. Britt graduated from Texas A & M University in 2012 and is a loud and proud Aggie. She has a passion for making learning fun and loves to see her students' confidence grow as they begin to learn and discover new things. That is the greatest reward.
Mrs.Britt lives in Corinth with her fiance and three fur children. They enjoy traveling and trying new experiences.
Her certifications include: EC-6 Generalist, Bilingual Supplemental, and ESL.
Mrs. Tyndall is in her second year as a full-time elementary school teacher. In 2009, she graduated from Oklahoma Christian Universtiy with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology. She spent almost 3 years teaching preschool at Fort Worth Christian School in N. Richland Hills, TX. During this time she earned her certification for EC-6. She and her husband Brad have a daughter, Emma, who is 6 and will be in 1st grade this year! Mrs. Tyndall loves sports especially University of Oklahoma college football (Boomer Sooner!!!) as well as the Dallas Mavericks and the Texas Rangers!! She enjoys spending time at the lake and camping as well.
She is looking forward to another amazing year here at Coppell Classical Academy and can't wait to instill in her kids a love for learning!
Mrs. Paigen is in her 5th year of teaching. This will be her first year here at CCA where she will be teaching Kindergarten. She previously taught 6th grade and 4th grade at both Grand Prairie ISD and Keller ISD. Mrs. Paigen graduated from Texas Woman's University with a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a minor in Early Childhood Education. She has a passion for building strong relationships with her students and making learning fun and exciting! Mrs. Paigen is married with two children ages 7 and 4. She is also a wedding/family photographer.
Ms. Hand is starting her first year at Coppell Classical Academy as a Kindergarten teacher. She lived in New York for four years to play Division 1 basketball for Marist College, where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Special Education. Ms. Hand is also certified in EC-6 and Special Education. Her absolute favorite things are Christmas, going to the beach, and all things Disney! She is so excited for this 2020-2021 school year at Coppell Classical Academy.
Mrs. Kadane is so excited to be starting her fifth year here at Coppell Classical Academy, and her fourth year in first grade. She is a Baylor graduate and has taught in the Allen and Coppell school districts, and loves now being a part of the CCA family. Mrs. Kadane has three children of her own, and knows how important education is. She feels it is a privilege to get to work with all the wonderful students at this school!
This is Mrs. Hewlett's 7th year of teaching in the classroom. She has taught special education, 5th grade, and now 1st grade currently. Additionally, she was a math intervention specialist with an ISD for 5 years. She has decided though that 1st grade is the best place to be! Mrs. Hewlett graduated from Baylor University with an elementary education degree and then earned her masters in Educational Psychology, also from Baylor. Sic'em! She and her husband have two (almost) grown children, ages 17 & 20. As a family, they enjoy spending time outdoors and playing games. Mrs. Hewlett also likes reading, both for leisure on her own and also to children, which is why she loves teaching first grade so much!
Mrs. Dawkins is a returning CCA teacher formerly known as Ms. Eck. She taught Kindergarten for four years before staying home with her twins. She is starting her fifth year of teaching and has moved up to First Grade. She lives in Denton with her husband, college-bound son, and boy/girl twins who started Kindergarten this year at CCA. Some of her ultimate favorites are: autumn, coffee, her family, reading, shopping and a perfect rainy day!
Ms. Wiseman is in her fifth year teaching first grade at Coppell Classical Academy. She graduated with a B.A. degree in Counseling from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. After graduating college, Ms. Wiseman worked for Grapevine/Colleyville School District and then as an Educational Counselor at East Central University. She received her master’s in School Counseling from East Central University in 2012.
In 2015, Ms. Wiseman and her family moved back to Texas, and she decided to follow her dream of becoming a teacher. She loves working with children and helping them develop a love for learning.
Mrs. Jeter is in her sixth year as a full-time elementary school teacher. In 2009, she graduated from the University of Texas at Tyler with a bachelor's degree in Health and Kinesiology. After spending a few years in the corporate world, she realized that her real passion in life was teaching in early childhood. Not long after, she earned her teaching certificate for grades K through 6. She and her husband Chris have three children, one in 4th, 1st and a 3 year old. They spend most of their time with soccer activities, but enjoy playing board games, traveling, and just spending time together as a family. They also enjoy everything Disney and the beach. This is Mrs. Jeter´s fifth year with Coppell Classical Academy and sixth year with ResponsiveEd. She looks forward to a great year and being able to instill a love for learning in her students.
Kayla Doolittle is excited to be teaching second grade this year at Coppell Classical Academy and honored to be a part of this outstanding community. She feels it is important for her students to love learning as much as she loves teaching. A certified teacher, Mrs. Doolittle has successfully taught second and third grades for 10 years, developing a passion for this age group. She feels It is her role to help students learn the skills, motivations, and tools needed to academically and socially master the world around them. Mrs. Doolittle’s goal is to give each of her students the best education possible in a caring and supportive learning environment. She believes every child should be valued and treated with respect. Also, she believes that the student, parent, and teacher must unite as a team and work together to make school an enjoyable, successful experience with measurable results. Mrs. Doolittle is looking forward to a positive, productive school year!
Mrs. Lafortune has two graduate degrees, one is in Early Childhood Education and the other is Master of Arts in Teaching, both from Texas Woman’s University in which she received her EC-6 and Special Education teacher certification. She has taught at a private school for 5 years as a Kindergarten teacher and a year in first grade. Mrs. Lafortune used to be a trainer for an insurance agency and when she decided to go back to school for her MBA, the road did not lead her there and instead in education, realizing that her passion is really teaching children. This is her third year of teaching 2nd grade at Coppell Classical Academy.
Married for 7 years, she and her husband have a Maltese named Snuffy and a mixed Yellow Lab named Sunny. During her free time, she likes to spend time with family and friends, read, do beading, and color to de-stress.
Mrs. Porter graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Communication Disorders. She worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist for six years before becoming a classroom teacher. She has served for 22 years in both public and private schools teaching grades PK- 3rd. She and her husband John have two children. Grant (22) and Haley (20) both attend Auburn University in Auburn, AL. Mrs. Porter is very excited that they chose to continue the Auburn family tradition even though they are 12 hours away. This will be Mrs. Porter's seventh year at Coppell Classical Academy.
Mrs. Heilman is very excited to be joining the Coppell Classical Academy this year as a 3rd grade ELAR teacher. Shanna graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in elementary education before relocating to Texas. She has taught 4th and 5th grades in Grapevine-Colleyville, Arlington and Kennedale before leaving the classroom for a few years to be a sports mom. She has 3 children and 3 step-children. Her oldest daughter is a graduate of UNT and works as a scenic artist at Universal Studios in Orlando. Her son is a junior electrical engineering major at Texas A&M. The youngest is a senior at Colleyville Heritage High and plays volleyball and competes in track. Mrs. Heilman and her husband, Paul, are avid sports fans and enjoy being at the beach or the lake. She also enjoys scrapbooking and doing crafts.
Taylor Fleek is beginning her fifth year of her teaching career. She graduated from Bob Jones University with a degree in Elementary Education. Her father served in the military during her entire childhood giving her opportunities to travel to many different places and experience a variety of cultures. One of her proudest moments was receiving Teacher of the Year during her second year of teaching.
Stephanie Blackmon is the 4th-grade ELAR teacher. This is her seventh year teaching at Coppell Classical Academy, and her 12th year being a Responsive Education parent! She graduated with a B.A. Degree in Journalism and a minor in English from Colorado State University. After spending many years working as a copy editor in the corporate world, Mrs. Blackmon turned her focus towards working with children in both faith-based and homeschool environments and ultimately decided to obtain her teacher certification.
Mrs. Blackmon is married to an amazing husband and they have four children. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her family, and they have a lot of fun cheering on their favorite sports teams--the Packers, Broncos, and Warriors! She loves reading and writing and sharing her passion for those things with her students. Mrs. Blackmon is looking forward to a wonderful 4th-grade adventure with your scholars this year!
Mr. Washam received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Texas, and went on to earn a Masters Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from UNT, as well. After working with adult ESL students for several years, Mr. Washam decided to transition into teaching at the grade-school level. This is Mr. Washam’s second year teaching math, and his first year teaching at Coppell Classical Academy, and he is very excited to be teaching at a classical-model school.
Mr. Washam and his wife enjoy traveling, camping, and going on adventures, and sometimes they are able to bring their dog, Zoe, with them. Mr. Washam also enjoys drinking coffee and reading any time he has the chance to do so.
This is Mrs. Thimesch's fifth year at Coppell Classical Academy. Her daughter attends a ResponsiveEd school in the area. As a parent, she can appreciate the opportunities and hope that a charter school provides for a family. She fully supports the mission of the school, and she is committed to the success of your child!
Mrs. Thimesch received a Master of Arts in Teaching degree at Texas Woman’s University in 2009. She served as a substitute teacher in her local school district, and volunteered for many years in the district’s Gifted and Talented extracurricular program.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and pets. Her family has two Yorkshire Terriers and one bunny that has a big personality. Her hobbies include playing board games, coin collecting, sewing, reading, and solving puzzles.
Mrs. Bailey is in her fifth year of teaching fifth grade language arts and social studies at Coppell Classical Academy. She was born and raised in Arkansas and is the daughter of a teacher and school superintendent. After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Education with an emphasis in Elementary Education and a minor in English, Mrs. Bailey taught in the public school system for nineteen years. She taught fifth grade language arts and social studies for sixteen years, English and speech at the high school level for two years, and reading/math remediation in grades 4 to 6 for one year. In 2009, she and her family moved to Texas where she worked as a long-term substitute teacher in grades 2 to 5 before accepting a full-time position with Responsive Education Solutions.
Mrs. Formby is so excited to begin her fourth year teaching at Coppell Classical Academy. She teaches 5th grade Science and History. Mrs. Formby received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Southwestern in Waxahachie, TX. Mrs. Formby feels she has the best job in the world, because she gets to impart knowledge and character virtues to the amazing fifth grade students of CCA. Mrs. Formby is married to her college sweetheart, and has a son who teaches Math at Maypearl Highschool and a daughter that attends College. Mrs. Formby loves to spend time with her family and friends. She also enjoys doing DIY projects, reading, and walking her dog in her free time.
Mr. Mullikin teaches 5th grade math at Coppell Classical Academy. He is the son of a teacher and business owner. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology he pursued jobs outside of education. This included working at a bank, managing a store, and becoming a financial advisor. He is a father of three boys. He was always told he should be a teacher by his friends and family and finally he embraced it.
He moved to Texas and decided to be a 5th grade teacher. During his first year teaching he rediscovered and rekindled his love for math. He enjoys making math fun and engaging for all his students. This is his fifth year with Responsive Education Solutions and his fourth year teaching 5th grade math Coppell Classical Academy.
Ms. Bernard is a mother of three children, two daughters and a son, and she loves spending time with her family. She graduated from Polytechnic University with a MS degree in Management of Technology. After many years in the corporate world, she realized her true calling and passion is teaching in Special Education. She further went ahead and got her MS in Special Education from Hunter College (CUNY) in New York City. She has taught for the past 8 years in Public Kinder to High Schools. She relocated to Texas from NYC to be closer to her family. Ms. Bernard is happy to be a part of CCA's family and this is her third year with Coppell Classical Academy.
